This is post is a summary of what my comp readers, Professor Jumadinova and Professor Brand, and I talked about on November 19th and 20th, 2024.
Novemeber 19th
With Professor Brand we talked about booking a research assistant. I have my meeting with him on the 22nd. We also talked about the ethical implications of my project. I am making it in a vision of myself which has its own implications. I also am critiquing social structures with this project. It is also a critque of what is human and what is not human.
We also talked about what motivates us to create these artifical images. Why do we train these AI? Another thing to think about is that we do not care if it is fake as long as the output feels good. We constantly get output from AI that is not actually the truth and we do not care because of the instantaneous answers. We also talked about how the AI is doing the performance of social interaction.
Novemeber 20th
In this meeting we went over comp requirements again. In order to get an A I will need over 30000 words for the final submission. 10 pages per chapter is a good gauge.
I also need to talk about the CS parts. The wording of talking about the piece is confusing so I need to get more specific. I also need to ge more scientific and can not use the word AI for everything. I also need to reqrite my first paragraph. Somehow I need to integrate the clash between how people are evolving and how technology is evolving.
We also cleared up my confusion about references in the introduction. My motivation should have citations and so should the more technical stuff.
The research questions should be questions I can come back to later to answer so set some art questions and some for CS. What can I answer from people interacting with the piece?
Finally, as I am writing I need to think about my audience as a second year computer science student and focus on the cs part of my literature review for now.
