After reading Anne Lamott piece I found it rather inspiring and relaxing due to the nature of the content. Thinking of a first draft as being messy and imperfect seems to be the oppsite of how I write. I often try to make my first draft near perfect trying to find the exact right words and making it all sound perfect. Lamott provides an alternative way to this that seems appealing to me. Thinking it as a childs draft where you let your creativity and ideas just go onto the page. To me this almost seems like a brain dump of all your ideas for the current chapter or topic. I like the idea of putting all my thought and ideas in a semi on the page structured way but not being perfect. Organizing and polishing these ideas at a alter date can be reassuring that at some point it will be good quality work.
