How does the reading get me in the correct mindset for being able to write my research paper? Using the outline in the slides, draft some paragraphs
After reading this passage, I am in the right mindset to write because it makes me worry less about messing up. For example, the article talks about how even really good writers have very bad first drafts. Anne Lamott talks about how these bad first drafts will at least put your ideas on paper which could then lead to a good second draft and an amazing third draft. Getting in this mindset to write makes it easier when you first start writing because you should know that either way this isn’t going to be your final work and you do not need to have all of your ideas collected in the first draft. In order to write something good, you need to not worry about writing something good and just write. For the first draft, if you just worry about what you are goind to write instead of just getting the first draft of the writing done, you will struggle with the writing all together. This book gets you to not think about what you are writing and encourages you to just write and if it is good or bad, it will get fixed. This is the best mindset you can have when writing.
